Himesh in auto
Jhalak Dikhlajaa
Jhalak Dikhlajaa
Ek bar aja aja aja aja aaaaajaaaa
Ek bar aja aja aja aja aaaaajaaaa
I am not a fan of this song, As of reality, I hate this song as much as I hate Karela(Bitter Gourd). It just doesn’t go below my tongue and it chokes my foodpipe. Similarly, this song chokes my head. As soon as I start listening it, my ears go mad pleading to close them up.
I was going in an autorickshaw to my college with my friend and the driver was listening to some kind of Punjabi song, not a word of which was understood by me. Although my friend was enjoying it and I expected him to. I mean, he is a Punjabi so I applaud that he knows his language. And as we were midway, the song ended…..
Oooooooooooooooooooooooo…….
As soon as this forceful emission from the nose hit my ears, I was saying, ”Shit. I was not expecting this song before I start my day in college.” But as known to everybody, you don’t mess with the driver who is somewhat a great fan of this song. I learnt this because he, unexpectedly, increased the voice of his speakers, which were specially designed to amplify the nasal tone than the music. My friend started dancing in the small area to show that he is no less than driving the auto himself. I remember he said, “This song has changed the whole Indian Bollywood Music. It has taken it to another level, worth a mention in the history book.”
This song is completely by Himesh Reshamiya. He is the lyricist, music composer, and singer of this song. Whenever I listen this song, many thoughts impinge my mind. Very first, why he sings with his nose intruding? Secondly, why does he sing? And thirdly, how much actually had he thought to come up with such a song which is probably a huge hit number of Bollywood. I am saying, the verse I wrote above is the main part of the song and it just has 5 words in all to count. Jhalak, dhiklaja, ek, bar, and aja. Seeing this, I am confident I can be a huge lyricist in Bollywood in coming days, atleast my song will have minimum ten words to start with.
A.R. Rehman, my favourite music composer, just gave the music for Delhi-6, the songs of which I downloaded the very previous day and listened. All the songs are of different genre, different music and with a soothing effect. And even he sings, it makes your eyes wet. I remember his two songs sung by him, Yeh jo Des hai tera from Swades and Luka Chupi from Rang De Basanti. These songs touch your heart to the core and the drops come from there only.
I once had a huge debate with my friend. The topic was “A.R.Rahman vs Himesh Reshamiya” And after I enumerated him almost 20 immemorial songs, he still didn’t stop. So, I decided to stop myself showing him my middle finger because I thought it is an insult to the gifted music composer if I compare him with Himesh Gaychamiya(that is how my brother likes to pronounce it). Let him be happy with the knowledge he has because it takes more than just ears to understand music.
The song was still half sung when I reached my college, so I have to give some credit to the God. I rushed to my college gate. And by coincidence, I just had two lectures that day.
